Dodge Challenger wins 2019 Car of Texas title
A pair of Dodge Challengers raced off with the top honor in the 2019 Texas Auto Roundup this past weekend in Denton, Texas.
Following two days of driving the streets and highways of North Texas – then pushing the vehicles in measured handling, acceleration and braking tests supervised by Texas Region Sports Car Club of America members – the Dodge Challenger duo was judged by the 44 journalists attending, to be the best of the best.
The Challengers not only won the 2019 Car of Texas award; they also took home the 2019 Performance Car of Texas while scoring a Performance Coupe category win along the way.
Chrysler’s 2019 Pacifica was named the 2019 Family Car of Texas and the brand-new 2020 Kia Telluride carted off the 2019 CUV of Texas honor.

2019 Car of Texas
2019 DODGE CHALLENGER
The Dodge team wanted to be sure that the TAWA media attending clearly recognized SRT as the performance halo of the Dodge brand and the ultimate American performance machine (aka muscle car) with their Dodge Challenger R/T and SRT Coupes.
Between the street driving and the performance handling, acceleration and braking testing activities, they certainly got the attention of the media attending using the ‘moderately’ priced Challenger R/T Scat Pack paired with the baddest of them all, the Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye.
Competing in the Performance Coupe category the two models raced away with the Performance Coupe Category and Performance Car of Texas honors – scoring well more than enough points to take the big award too – the 2019 Car of Texas.
